Get Help with Herbs
Online Advice
So you’ve decided to take a natural approach to your health but don’t know where to start. There are so many different herbs out there – each with its own medicine. I’m here to help you navigate this complex yet magical world of herbal supplements.
Let’s connect on Zoom, Telegram, Whatsapp, Teams, Skype, grab a cuppa and talk about medicinal herbs.
Here are some questions people often wonder about:
- What are typical herbs for a specific condition?
- What are recommended dosages according to traditional practices?
- How does one take these herbs?
- Are teas better than tinctures?
Note that these sessions are charged by the half hour.
Online Consultations
As an Ethnomedicine Health Advisor registered under the South African Traditional Health Practitioners Act 22 of August 2007, and having received a diploma as a Master Herbalist from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (UK), I practice the principles of holistic traditional herbalism.
An initial two-hour health consultation will include:
- Taking a comprehensive medical history,
- Providing advice in the principles of traditional herbalism to help restore and encourage physical healing,
- Providing guidance, in principles of naturopathy, on beneficial lifestyle adjustments and healthful habits.
A free follow-up consultation is also available so that we can discuss your progress and make small adjustments to the treatment plan if needed. Remember that Nature is gentle yet powerful when it comes to our healing.
Standard consultations for new complaints are shorter where we focus on maintaining ongoing health or addressing any pressing needs.
Please note that I do not provide a diagnosis in the classical allopathic sense but will still work alongside your pre-diagnosed conditions within my scope of practice.
Workshops
I also host educational events in Cape Town, South Africa, where we explore the nature of herbs and reconnect with them mindfully and respectfully – a sensory herbal journey if you will. In this way, we’re able to notice the subtle yet powerful communication that plants provide – their medicine – and a dissolution of the illusory separation between us and nature is achieved.
My Herbal Journey
Some of my friends and family have become disillusioned with pharmaceutical medicines. Having experienced a gradual re-awakening to nature’s intelligence in my own life, I knew that ancient and seemingly forgotten knowledge would be the missing piece to the health that so many are looking for. Through my studies in holistic healing with Western and local South African herbal medicine traditions, I’m on a journey of rediscovering and reintroducing the bounty our Earth offers so freely – yet, she beckons us into partnership for mutual benefit. We are, after all, connected to each other.
My hope is to keep learning and discovering the true meaning of health and to support those that look to alternative and natural treatments. Let us return to harmony within ourselves and our environment.
Yours in herbal medicine,
Sean du Plessis
